Civiq: French Civic Exam 2026

Since 1 January 2026, the civic exam (examen civique) is required for a first multi-year residence card (carte de séjour pluriannuelle, CSP) or a resident card (carte de résident, CR) in France. 40 questions in French, 45 minutes, 32 correct answers to pass.

This app prepares you, one question at a time.

WHAT'S INSIDE • The knowledge questions from the official list, for your level (CSP or CR), with the right answer and a simple explanation. • 60 real-life scenarios, the kind of question that is not in the official list. • Mock exams like the real one: 40 questions, 45 minutes, results by topic. • The five exam topics: values of the Republic, institutions, rights and duties, history-geography-culture, living in France. • Your mistakes come back until you know them. • A "Translate" button on every question: English or Arabic. The exam itself is in French, so the questions stay in French. • A countdown to your exam day and an optional daily reminder.

SIMPLE AND PRIVATE No account, no ads, no data collected. Works offline.

FREE, THEN ONE PAYMENT Part of the questions and one mock exam are free. Full access is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

IMPORTANT Independent app, not affiliated with the French Ministry of the Interior or the exam centres. It does not replace the civic training. The knowledge questions are those published on formation-civique.interieur.gouv.fr (Etalab open licence 2.0); answers, explanations, scenarios and translations are written by the publisher from the official fact sheets.
