Deckname

Deckname keeps personal data out of AI chats — without giving up the help.

Paste an email, a contract or meeting notes. Deckname replaces names, companies, places, email addresses, phone numbers, IBANs, card numbers, IP addresses and links with placeholders like [PERSON_1] or [IBAN_1]. Copy the result into any AI chat. When the answer comes back, paste it into Deckname and every placeholder turns back into the original.

- Three clear steps: protect, paste into the AI, restore the answer - Review every match and uncheck anything that may stay visible - Favorites: your boss, key clients or colleagues always get the same placeholder, such as [BOSS] — so the AI keeps track of who is who - Your own terms: project code names, product names, internal words - Checks IBANs and card numbers before hiding them, so ordinary numbers stay readable - Quick access from the menu bar and with keyboard shortcuts (⌃⌥⌘D protect, ⌃⌥⌘R restore) - English and German

Private by design: Deckname works fully offline and has no network access. The list of placeholders lives in memory only and disappears when you quit or start a new session. Favorites are stored encrypted in your Mac's keychain.
