Pourover coffee note

Great pour-over is a series of small, repeatable decisions: how fresh the beans are, what ratio to use, how fine to grind. This app is a calm, private ledger for all of them — track beans from roast day to the last cup, log every brew, and let honest charts turn "tastes a bit sour" into an exact next step. EVERY BAG, WITH A SHELF LIFE Add each bag with its roast date, roaster and roast level. This app maps it onto a real freshness curve — resting while it degasses, peaking when the flavor opens up, declining as aromatics fade — with thresholds that shift by roast. Open the bag and the clock keeps running. One glance tells you which beans are ready, which are fading, and which to drink now. BREW IN SECONDS, NOT FIELDS Log a brew with dose, water, ratio, grind, brewer and a timed pour stage, with a timer that tracks each pour against your recipe. Values pre-fill from your last session, so the second brew takes three taps. DIAL IN WITH A RULE, NOT A GUESS Rate the cup — sour, bitter, weak, strong — and the Dial-In Advisor answers with a concrete change: grind two clicks finer, pour a little slower, and nothing else. It suggests one variable at a time, the way good baristas actually dial in, and keeps the full history of adjustments for each bag. TASTE YOU CAN SEE A six-axis radar draws each brew's flavor profile — acidity, sweetness, body, bitterness, aroma, balance — with earlier brews of the same bean layered underneath, so you can watch the coffee change as it ages. EXTRACTION, PLOTTED PROPERLY Record TDS and the app computes extraction yield and strength, then plots every brew on a scatter chart with the SCA ideal window behind it. Each point lands in a named quadrant — under-extracted, over-extracted, strong, weak — so the chart tells you not just where you missed, but which way. NEVER WASTE A BAG Track how much coffee is left in each bag, and a forecast built from your real brewing pace tells you roughly how many days it will last — a nudge before it goes stale, not after. Every cup gets a cost per cup, too. TOOLS ON THE JOURNAL PAGE A water recipe calculator for mineral concentrates, an iced pour-over converter, and a cheat sheet of common ratios and temperatures. Save recipes as templates and reuse them with one tap. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS This app works completely offline. No account, no analytics, no advertising, and it never connects to a server. Brews, photos and settings live inside the app's own folder on your iPhone. Export a clean PDF report whenever you like, or delete everything with one button in Settings. Reminders are local only — a gentle nudge when a bag hits peak. TRY IT BEFORE YOU COMMIT The app starts with a couple of sample bags and a short brew history so every chart has something to show. They clear out in one tap when you are ready for your first real cup. Whether you brew a single V60 on weekends or chase every gram on a scale, This app keeps the ledger straight so you can spend your attention on the cup.
