Railway Lamp Servicing Kit

Railway Lamp Servicing Kit is a mobile application for railway equipment collectors, signalling historians and custodians of depot artefacts. It is dedicated to cataloguing the tools, spare parts and accessories used to service oil and kerosene railway signal lamps before their widespread replacement by electric systems.

Organise a collection of equipment used by railway lamp tenders—the workers who made their rounds of signals, points and semaphores, cleaning soot from lenses, filling fuel reservoirs, trimming wicks and maintaining the correct flame height and shape.

Catalogue single-day and long-burning burners, oil reservoirs, flat cotton and round felt wicks, glass chimneys, coloured signal lenses, replacement gaskets, mounting hardware and surviving servicing kits.

Build a digital archive of the railway lamp tender’s vanished trade. Document each item’s construction, the type of signal it served, its railway company, manufacturer, period of use and surviving service markings.
