Finally understand Hungarian the way people really speak it. Real videos made by Hungarians, matched to your level and listening speed.
Most courses give you slow, tidy dialogues recorded for learners. Then someone speaks Hungarian at normal speed, the long words run together, and you follow almost none of it. Reelang turns the clips native Hungarian speakers actually post into listening practice you can scroll. 17,500+ videos, from clear beginner-friendly speech to full native pace, beginners to C1.
New to Hungarian? Start anyway You do not need any Hungarian to begin. The feed starts with short, clearer clips and gradually raises the pace as your listening improves, with the most common words first. Real Hungarian is something you follow on day one, not something you work up to.
How it works • Real Hungarian videos, made for Hungarian speakers, not for textbooks. • A feed graded two ways: by your level, and by how fast people actually speak. • Every clip says where the speaker comes from. • Hear standard Hungarian and the Transylvanian accent, and choose which one your feed plays. • Smart Subtitles underline the words worth learning, the most common 500, 1,000 and 2,000 words in Hungarian, so you can see at a glance which word is worth a tap. • Tap any word in the captions to see what it means, right there in the sentence. • Learner insights: each clip comes with a short note on the Hungarian worth knowing in it.
Focus mode, the guided way in Do not just watch a clip, work it. Focus plays it once with no text, asks how much you caught, then takes it sentence by sentence and word by word until it lands. Tap a word to keep it for review. Prefer to just watch? Flow does that instead.
Some videos have the subtitles burned into the picture. A normal player cannot take those off the screen. Reelang can. Hide them and you are only listening, not reading.
Grew up hearing Hungarian? If your family speaks Hungarian and you understand more than you can say, start here. The Hungarian you heard at home is in the feed, at the speed people really talk.
Studying in Hungary? Your course may be taught in English. Daily life is not. The flat viewing, the shop, the people in your building all speak Hungarian. Reelang gets your ear used to it before you arrive, and keeps it going once you are there.
Applying for Hungarian citizenship, or sitting the ECL exam? The simplified naturalisation interview is held in Hungarian, and both come down to understanding Hungarian when it is spoken to you. Reelang is not an exam course and sets no practice papers. What it gives you is the listening.
You're not memorizing lists. You're hearing Hungarian the way it's really spoken, fast, casual, alive, and understanding a bit more each day. That's when it stops feeling like homework.
Free to start. Scroll, tap, learn.
