Ruta 90: Learn a Language

Ruta 90 by Outlier Method. A cleaner, more fun way to learn a language.

We love language apps, but we found the big ones cluttered and confusing. So we built Ruta 90: no streak guilt, no ads, no maze of menus. Just one short story a day that you star in.

Type your first name and Ruta 90 writes you into every scene. You get sick and miss school, order coffee, get lost in the city and get caught in a storm, all in the language you are learning. Each day you watch a scene told slowly with pictures, answer questions about it, then retell it out loud.

• Six languages: Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Russian and Latin • 90 days, 90 stories: one short story a day in 9 themed units, from your first hello to a big trip abroad • English under every line, question and answer, so you always know what you're learning • Every story read aloud slowly, with pictures • Speaking practice that listens and checks what you said • Review that brings back the phrases you are about to forget • A 60 second challenge to race the clock • Videos picked for every story: popular, well made lessons on the same topic, with a timer that counts every minute • Your own town to explore, with a building for every story • A daily reminder at the time you pick • Family boards: compete with family on any phone or computer, with no accounts or passwords • World board: race every learner of your language this week • Natural voices: uses the best voice on your iPhone. For the most lifelike sound, download a free Premium voice in Settings, Accessibility, Spoken Content. The app walks you through it.

No account. No ads. Your progress stays on your phone.

Unit 1 is free, plus the first story of every unit. Ruta 90 Pro opens all 90 days. No hearts, no energy limits: $7.99 a month, or $39.99 a year with a 7 day free trial.
