Aurora Blocks: Block Puzzle

A calm block puzzle under the northern lights.

Drag pieces onto an 8 x 8 board. Fill a row or a column and it clears in a burst of light. Pieces never rotate, so where you put them is the whole game.

HOW IT PLAYS - Three pieces at a time. Place all three and three more arrive - A full row or column clears, and rows and columns clear together - Lines about to clear light up in the colour of the piece you are holding, so you see the reward before you commit - Clear several lines at once for far more points, and clear again within three moves to build a combo - Empty the whole board for a Perfect Clear bonus - The run ends when none of your three pieces fits. One Second Chance per run gives you pieces that do

TWO WAYS TO PLAY - Classic is endless. There is no timer and no move limit, only the board filling up and your best score to beat - Adventure has levels with their own starting boards: reach a score, or collect diamonds, stars and hearts by clearing the lines they sit on. Ten are hand made and the rest are generated, so they never run out

MADE TO LOOK AT Every block, gem and spark is drawn by the game as it runs, and so is the aurora behind them: no artwork files, no photographs. The music and every sound are generated the same way, from a few lines of maths. That is why the whole game is a few megabytes.

Aurora Blocks is free. An ad plays between runs, never during one, and Remove Ads turns it off for good. There are no banner ads. Second Chance is offered once per run: watch a short video to carry on, or decline and keep your score.
