About

Half-fold your iPhone Duo and it becomes a real chess clock: the timers stand up facing the board, the tap pads lie flat under your fingers. On every other iPhone, Boardside is the clearest two-player clock you can put beside a board.

MADE FOR IPHONE DUO • Tabletop: half-fold the phone and the timers move to the upright half, like a tournament clock, while the tap pads and controls sit on the flat half. • Open it flat for the classic face-to-face clock, or keep it closed and play on the outer display. • Fold or unfold mid-game. The clock keeps running without missing a beat. • Swap sides so White’s clock is always on White’s side of the board.

EVERY TIME CONTROL • One-tap presets for bullet, blitz, rapid and classical: 1+0, 3+2, 5+3, 10+5, 15+10, 60+30 and more. • Custom controls up to three hours per player. • Fischer increment, simple delay, Bronstein delay or sudden death. • Your four most recent controls stay one tap away.

FAIR AND CLEAR • Huge, high-contrast digits, with tenths of a second when time runs short. • Only the player on move can stop their clock, so a stray tap never costs a turn. • Hold to start: both players hold their side for a shared three-second countdown. Or start with a single, confirmed tap. • Low-time warnings at 30 and 10 seconds, with optional sound and haptics. • Pause with confirmation, undo the last switch, and a clear flag-fall result with the final clocks. • Timekeeping that keeps counting correctly through notifications and app switches, and a screen that stays awake while you play. • VoiceOver announces the start, low time and the result.

YOUR STYLE • Modern or Tournament felt clock faces. • Light, dark or automatic appearance. • Player names and four colors per side.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no ads, no tracking and no internet connection needed. Your settings never leave your iPhone.

Set up the board, set the clock, and make your move.
