In short

Emberpost is a free iPhone and iPad game about drifting under an invented sky and stamping the view as a postcard. It has 146 generated places, an Atlas of places reached, and a Postbag where cards can be saved or shared. The app works offline, has no account, and shows a single ad when each evening's sky settles.

About

At the edge of everywhere there is an old letterbox with an ember still glowing in it.

Push the damper up and the dark pours out of the slot and across the whole sky. Drift left and right under the stars. Pull the damper down and the sky settles over somewhere far away and quiet. Press the stamp, and that evening becomes a postcard you can keep or send.

146 PLACES THAT DON'T EXIST Every place is invented, from harbour towns to hilltop water towers, and each one is drawn from its own number. The same place always looks the same. No two look alike.

AN ATLAS AND A POSTBAG Each place you reach is added to your Atlas. Every postcard you stamp goes into your Postbag, with room for a short line in your own words. Save a card to Photos or share it with someone.

MUSIC THAT IS PLAYED, NOT RECORDED The soundtrack is synthesised on the device as you listen: slow pads, a low bass and a few chimes that shift with the sky.

NOTHING TO WIN No levels, no score, no timer and nothing to unlock with money. Open it for a minute or for an hour.

- No account and no in-app purchases - The sky, Atlas and Postbag are made on your device and keep working with no network connection - Free to play, supported by a single full-screen ad shown when one evening's sky settles and the next begins - A first-launch App Tracking Transparency prompt; declining it changes no feature - iPhone and iPad

ABOUT THE ADS Emberpost is free because it shows ads. They are served through the AppLovin MAX mediation SDK, which may pass a request to bidding networks including Google AdMob and BidMachine; Google's User Messaging Platform asks for ad consent where it is required, and Adjust measures installs and ad performance. With your permission a device identifier is used to make ads more relevant, and you can change that at any time under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Emberpost itself never asks for your location and reads no motion data, though the ad SDKs may work out an approximate location from your network connection in order to serve relevant ads, as set out in the App Privacy details on this page. The app writes to your photo library only when you tap Save to Photos; your postcards and progress stay on the device.
