About
Watch what you came for.
FocusTube makes the YT website in Safari calmer by hiding distracting sections while keeping search and playback available.
Choose one of two modes:
STUDY Hide the home recommendation feed, short videos, related videos and comments. Keep search, the video player, title, description, player controls and access to playlists.
SUBSCRIPTIONS Hide the home recommendation feed, short videos and related videos. Keep access to your subscriptions feed and leave comments available.
• Rules follow supported page changes inside YT without a manual refresh. • Hide short-video sections on supported home, search, watch and subscriptions pages, as well as the menu entry. • A direct short-video page shows a calm message with a route back to search or a temporary pause. • Pause for 15 minutes. The end time is saved, so reloading the page does not reset the pause. • Switch modes or turn FocusTube off whenever you want.
Enable the Safari extension and allow it access to www.youtube.com and m.youtube.com. FocusTube changes the existing YT webpage; it does not replace the player. Website layout changes can affect which sections are hidden. Unknown layouts are left usable.
Your enabled state, selected mode and pause end time stay on your device. FocusTube does not collect watch history, search queries, video titles or account identifiers. No account, analytics or page upload to a developer server.
For YT pages opened in Safari on Mac, iPhone and iPad. FocusTube does not modify the YT app, block ads or download videos. It is an independent extension with no affiliation to the video platform operator.
