In short

RoarDrive is a games app that plays recorded engine sounds matched to your real speed, so the note rises and falls with the throttle and gear changes. It suits drivers who want their car to sound like a race car, and it can run on a phone or in the car's own browser. One standout point is a free simulator that lets you play an engine with two fingers, without a car or GPS.

About

Your car sounds like a race car.

RoarDrive plays real engine recordings that follow your actual speed: lift off and it settles, floor it and it climbs, and the gearbox changes where a real one would. It runs on your phone or, better, on your car's own screen: open roardrive.com there and drive.

FREE, WITHOUT PAYING ANYTHING • The simulator: drive an engine with two fingers, no car and no GPS needed. • A demo of every engine, a few minutes a day. • The full race dash: rev lights, gear, speed, lap timer with 70+ circuits.

THE ENGINE • Recordings of a real engine, not a synthesiser: idle, on-throttle, overrun, the starter, the shutoff, the noise of the pit box while you sit there. • A virtual gearbox with its own ratios, or tell us your car's and it changes where you change. • Launch control: hold the brake for five seconds and the revs sit at the launch point.

HOW IT READS YOUR SPEED • The phone's GPS, anywhere, with nothing to set up. • Your car's own browser reads the car's GNSS: faster and tighter. • Coming soon: optional hardware for the best response, a RaceBox at 25 Hz or an OBD-II dongle.

NOTHING TO TOUCH WHILE DRIVING You set it up parked. After that the screen is a dash and you just drive.

Each engine is bought once and is yours on every screen you sign in on: the phone and the car.
