Open .md files as clear, formatted documents.

Rule Markdown is a reader for iPhone and iPad. See headings, tables, lists, and code with the formatting in place. Your original file stays unchanged.

.md is the common filename extension for Markdown. Use Rule Markdown to read READMEs, guides, checklists, and plans from AI agents.

OPEN FROM FILES

Tap the folder button in Rule Markdown and choose your document from Files or iCloud Drive. Use Open in Rule Markdown when another app offers it.

READ THE PLAN BEFORE THE NEXT STEP

Ask an agent for a plan or README, save the Markdown file, and open the result on your phone or iPad. Follow the steps, find a detail, and review the code.

KEEP THE USEFUL PARTS

- Jump between sections with the outline or search for a phrase. - Read tables, task lists, footnotes, metadata, and code blocks. - Choose twelve palettes, plus System appearance, and set your text size. - Scroll wide tables and code sideways. - Switch to Source to see the original Markdown. - Copy a code block, selected text, or the rendered document.

Copy Document offers Plain Text, Formatted Text, and HTML. Code line numbers stay out of copied code.

Keep six recent files in the sidebar. Browse Recents searches up to 50 saved entries by name or location. Hide the list, clear it, or stop remembering files in Settings.

Saved changes can update an open view, depending on the file and its provider. Reload Document rereads the saved file.
