Runa: Pronunciation Practice
Not claimedRuna listens to you say a phrase and tells you exactly which word came out wrong
By Kello Solutions SIA · EducationWhy we expect it: Specific word-level feedback, practice with your own text, and rare language coverage make this a strong debut for language learners.
About
Runa listens to you say a phrase and tells you exactly which word came out wrong. Not a score you can't act on — the specific word, what it sounded like instead, and where your timing drifted from the reference. In 85+ languages, including the ones no other app supports.
PRACTISE YOUR OWN WORDS
Every other app gives you its content. Runa lets you paste yours. The sentences from your residency exam sheet. Your colleagues' names, which you've been getting wrong for eight months. The twelve phrases you need for your first hospital shift. Paste any text and Runa splits it into practisable phrases, generates the audio, and adds the romanisation.
SEE WHAT WENT WRONG
After each attempt, your waveform sits under the reference, aligned word by word. You see not just that the third word failed but where — the rushed syllable, the swallowed ending, the pause in the wrong place. Every missed word shows what was actually heard.
THE LANGUAGES NOBODY ELSE COVERS
Latvian, Estonian, Lithuanian, Georgian, Ukrainian, Thai, Finnish, Hungarian, and 80 more. If you're learning a language with no pronunciation tool, this is the one.
FIVE MINUTES A DAY
Rounds are five to eight phrases. Spaced repetition brings a phrase back the day before you'd forget it. A missed attempt moves it one step back, never all the way to the start — one bad morning shouldn't cost you three weeks.
SOUND LAB
Runa watches which sounds you keep missing and builds drills around them. Minimal pairs for the contrasts that trip up learners of your specific language: ķ against k in Latvian, ü against u in German, tone contrasts in Thai.
