In short

Verbolley: Word Tennis is a tennis game where each shot is answered by typing a word whose length matches the distance to the ball. Players face opponents in knockout tournaments that climb from Rookie to Pro, or pick quick single games and sets. What stands out is that rare letters like J, Q, X and Z make stronger shots, while used letters need rest before they can be played again.

About

Tennis, but every shot is a word.

When your opponent hits the ball, time slows right down. A row of tiles lights up from you to the ball: count them, type a word that fits exactly, and hit GO. A real word sends it screaming back over the net. Anything else and you whiff.

SPELL YOUR SHOT • The distance to the ball sets the word length: three tiles, three letters • Faster shots mean more tiles and longer words, all against the clock • Rare letters hit harder: land a J, Q, X or Z for a power shot your opponent may not reach • Almost 80,000 words to play, from ACE to ZEPHYRS

EVERY LETTER COUNTS Letters you play need a rest before you can use them again, and vowels come back sooner than consonants. Burn your best letters on a long word and you may be scrambling on the next shot. Save them and you might just find the winner.

RISE TO PRO Campaign mode is an endless run of four-player knockout tournaments. Start at a rating of 0 and climb through Rookie, Club, Challenger and Contender to Pro at 1000. Opponents play at their rating, upsets earn more, and the crowd grows as your name does.

QUICK PLAY Pick easy, normal or hard, then play anything from a single game to a full set with a tiebreak.

LEARN IN A MINUTE Coach Lex walks you through your first rally, one word at a time.

ALSO • Hand-illustrated courts, players and crowds • Slow-motion rallies with a broadcast-style camera • Works with hardware keyboards • Plays completely offline • No ads, no accounts, no tracking, no in-app purchases
