vTTS: Offline Text to Speech

Make time for the books you love, even when your eyes need a break. vTTS reads books and text aloud on iPhone, iPad and Mac, with voices built into the app and ready to use offline.

LISTEN YOUR WAY • Voices and interface in 17 languages, including English and Vietnamese. • Paste text or import EPUB, PDF, DOCX, TXT and other supported formats. • Follow the highlighted passage or tap a sentence to listen from there. • Adjust speed while listening, add background music and set a sleep timer. • Resume at your saved position, with a separate language, voice and speed for each book.

KEEP WHAT MATTERS • Search within books, add bookmarks and save notes. • Track listening time, daily goals, streaks and achievements. • Back up your library to a file and restore it when needed. • Choose what to sync with iCloud: activity and achievements, books and reading positions, drafts, history and your pronunciation dictionary. • Export M4A, MP3, AAC or WAV audio, or an M4B audiobook with chapters.

TRANSLATE AND LISTEN Translate text and books on your device. A translated book is saved as a new copy, preserving the original and opening in the target language. Requires iOS/iPadOS 18 or macOS 15 or later; availability depends on the language pair. The system may need to download language data the first time.

Speech is generated on your device without a cloud speech service. The optional LAN server is off by default and protected by an access token. On iPhone and iPad, the app must stay in the foreground to serve requests.
