Wafflet is a budget planner played like a game. Set a limit for the day, log what you spend, and at midnight the day closes as a quest with one of three results.
THREE WAYS A DAY CAN END - Saved: you spent under 90% of your limit. Worth 15 to 25 XP. - Bullseye: you landed in the last 10%. Worth 30 XP, the most a day can pay. - Overspent: you went past the limit. It costs 10 XP and resets your streak. Tomorrow is a new quest.
Spending your whole plan is the best result, not the worst. The skill is planning accurately, not going without.
KNOW BEFORE YOU SAVE Before an expense is added, one line tells you what it will do to today: what it leaves, whether it lands in the bullseye zone, or how far over it takes you.
BUDGET THE WAY YOU THINK Plan by day, week or month. The daily quest is suggested from your budget and stays editable. A week or month you join late is pro rated to the days that are left.
GET BETTER AT IT Earn XP across eight levels, from First step to Free. Keep a streak going and collect eight badges, including Quiet day, Sharpshooter and Bounce back. Your score is worked out from your plan and your expenses every time it is shown, so fixing a mistyped expense corrects the result, the streak and the XP together.
A KEYPAD BUILT FOR MONEY A 000 key for currencies without cents, a decimal key for those with, and plus, minus and equals for a bill in parts.
PAY IN ANY CURRENCY Quests are counted in your home currency. A foreign expense is converted at that day's reference rate and both amounts are kept. Offline, the last known rate is used and the amount is marked as an estimate until the real rate arrives.
REMINDERS THAT STAY ON YOUR DEVICE Quest results the morning after, a nudge on the last day of a week or month, and an optional evening check in. All are local notifications.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no bank login, no analytics, no ads. Your budget and expenses are stored on your device. The only thing the app downloads is a public table of exchange rates, and only when you log an expense in a foreign currency.
WAFFLET PLUS Plus adds Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets and Apple Watch, so you can see what is left today and log from your wrist. Quests, XP, levels, streaks and badges are free forever.
