Promise Star: Kid Habit Reward

Instead of "Time to stop watching," a promise your child keeps by turning it off on their own.

Promise Star is an app for parents. It gives your child a short burst of video time for things they did by themselves — going potty, brushing teeth, finishing a meal — and helps them practice turning the video off when time is up. Use it when you let your child watch something on your iPhone or iPad.

■ How it works 1. You set the promises and reward times. (e.g. I brushed my teeth! → 5 min) 2. When your child keeps a promise, you unlock with your PIN and your child taps the promise. 3. One button opens YouTube (or Netflix, Disney+). The time left shows as a shrinking circle on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. 4. When time is up, a Promise Star screen covers the video app and a voice says "Promise time is over." When your child taps "I'll turn it off!", a star gift arrives! 5. If they leave it, the video app stays locked until you open Promise Star.

■ The exciting Star Book - Every time your child turns it off themselves, a gift box opens and they meet a new star friend. - An exciting gift reveal with lights bursting in 24 colors! - 61 stars: sparkle stars, family stars, princess and prince stars, job stars, car stars and animal stars. - Collect the same star in 24 different colors. - Special seasonal stars, like Halloween stars, appear only at certain times of year.

■ Features that put parents at ease - The app is always locked. You unlock it with your PIN for each promise, so your child can't create video time alone. - First-time setup walks you through the app your child watches and Screen Time locking in one go, with picture guides. - By default, only the apps you choose are locked, and only when reward time ends. Turn on "Lock outside reward time" to keep them locked the rest of the time too. - Watch history: see today's and this week's watch time, how often your child turned it off on their own, and the last 7 days. - You add and edit the promise list and times yourself. (Bath time, tidying up, nap time and more) - Chosen videos mode: when on, your child picks only from videos you chose. No wandering into search or recommended videos. - Record the guidance and time-up voice in Mom's or Dad's own voice. - Available in Korean, English and Japanese.

■ Permissions - Screen Time: needed to lock the apps you choose when reward time ends. The app does not read or send which apps were used or for how long. - Notifications: needed to tell you, with a voice, when time is up. - Microphone: used only to record a parent's voice. Recordings are stored only on the device.

■ Privacy Promise Star has no sign-up and does not collect your child's personal information. All records, including watch history, are stored only on the device.
