Word Search: Learn New Words

Word Search is a themed word puzzle game. Find the hidden words on the board, then tap any one of them to read what it actually means.

There are 132 stages, each with its own theme — Coffee Shop, Birds, Baking, Airport, Vikings, Planets — and ten levels inside each one. That comes to 1,320 puzzles. Boards start at 5×5 and grow to 9×9, hiding between 6 and 14 words. Early stages keep every word running across or down; later ones open up diagonals and words written backwards.

A word, and what it means

Every answer carries a real dictionary definition, and there are more than 3,400 of them. Tap a word in the list beside the board to get its part of speech, its meanings and an example. Trace out a real word that happens not to be on this level's list and the game tells you it is a word, instead of just buzzing at you.

A new puzzle every day

The daily puzzle is a different board each day, and it is not a square: the letters sit inside a diamond, a heart, a tree, a star, a globe or a key. A calendar keeps every day you have played and lets you go back through previous months, and finishing enough days in a month pays out hints.

How hints work

You start with three. A hint lights up the first and last letter of one word you have not found yet. To get more, you can watch an optional video or reach the monthly goal on the daily calendar. Hints never expire, and no level is on a timer.

Made to play anywhere

Puzzles are built on your device, so every level works with no connection. Leave a board half-solved and it is waiting exactly as you left it, clock and all. There is no sign-up, no login and no profile — your progress stays on your device.

Dark mode, two background music tracks, sound effects and haptic feedback, each switched on or off on its own.
