CoverUp: Album Cover Quiz

The cover is there. You just can't see it yet.

CoverUp shows you an album cover buried under heavy pixelation and starts the clock. Name the band before the image resolves: the faster you call it, the more it's worth. Get it right and you can gamble on the album title to double the round, or bank the points and walk. Miss the title and the round is halved, so know when to push.

472 landmark albums, from the fifties to the twenties, across rock, hip hop, R&B, pop, electronic, country, punk, indie and jazz.

FOUR DIFFICULTIES Easy for a relaxed dig. Normal for a fair fight. Hard drops an attempt. Crate Digger gives you one shot, three seconds, six options and no mercy.

LINER NOTES Don't know music? Study every cover face up first, then play from memory. It turns CoverUp into a memory game, so you don't need to know music to win.

YOUR COVERS Every cover you name goes in your collection. Track your records, your strongest genres and decades, and earn 17 awards along the way.

PLAY YOUR OWN RECORDS Pair it with the free Crate Roulette app and your own record collection becomes a CoverUp crate, with its own records and awards.

FILTER YOUR CRATE Play all of it, or narrow to 90s hip hop, 70s rock, or whatever corner you actually know.

PASS AND PLAY Two players, one phone, separate scores, and a head-to-head at the end.

EARN YOUR TITLE Finish and find out whether you're a Vinyl Oracle, a Record Store Regular, or someone who Bought The Poster And Never Heard The Album.

No account. No ads. No tracking. No internet required: every cover ships with the app.
