Fotouhr

Photographers know them from the crop tool: golden spiral, rule of thirds, phi grid. Fotouhr turns them into clock faces. The clock sits where the subject would sit in a good picture – in the eye of the spiral or on an intersection of the lines. SIX RULES OF COMPOSITION • Golden spiral: the numerals follow the spiral, large on the wide side, small in the eye. • Rule of thirds and phi grid: the clock sits on an intersection. • Golden triangle, diagonal method and symmetry. The focal point can go in any corner. The dial fills the whole frame as an oval – or stays classically round. WITH A RUNNING SECOND HAND Widgets normally redraw only once a minute. Fotouhr's second hand runs anyway – on the spiral and the oval it even grows longer and shorter. DESIGN YOUR DIAL • Arabic or Roman numerals, quarters only or none • Classic serif, modern or rounded typeface • Guide lines clear, subtle or off • Date and elapsed minutes on or off • Six colour palettes from "Night" to "Paper" – or your own colours • Finely drawn hands: leaf, lance and a second hand in the accent colour ON IPHONE • Home Screen widgets in three sizes, each set up individually • StandBy: put the iPhone on its charger sideways and Fotouhr sits there as a widget • Bedside clock in the app: starts by itself when the iPhone charges in landscape. Swipe for the next design; the screen stays on. YOUR DATA No account, no ads, no tracking, no subscription. The app collects no data and needs no internet connection. German, English and Spanish. Also for Mac – as a desktop widget.
