MyWay: Explore the City

STEP COUNTS Optionally connect read-only Apple Health access to see your daily steps and steps during recorded walks and runs. Counts can arrive with a delay and may be approximate around pause boundaries. No readable samples are shown as no data. Step totals stay on this phone and are not included in MyWay cloud backups or the leaderboard. You can disconnect in the steps card and manage permission in Apple Health.

Turn an everyday walk into a city adventure. MyWay saves your walks and runs and reveals the places you have explored on your personal map.

SMALL SURPRISES, NEW DISCOVERIES New territory comes with a short celebration. Explore the animated tabs, tap the compass in your results and look for a hidden surprise on the map. Effects respect your device’s Reduce Motion setting.

CHOOSE YOUR BATTERY USAGE Choose Standard for more frequent updates, or Battery saver for fewer location and map updates. In Battery saver, sharp turns may be less detailed.

DISCOVER NEW PLACES Start a walk or run, pause recording and finish when you return. See your distance and the area you have explored. Journeys by transport are saved separately and do not reveal the map as a walk would.

KEEP YOUR HISTORY Revisit completed routes, correct the activity type and delete recordings you no longer need. Your map is recalculated from the history you keep.

FIND A WALK Get a suggested circular walking route through new places. On iPhone, routes use Apple Maps without a personal API key. Maps and walking suggestions require an internet connection.

CONTROL YOUR RECORDING Start recording manually or enable background exploration separately in Settings. Background location helps continue recording while the screen is locked, and motion access helps distinguish walking from transport.

CHOOSE YOUR LANGUAGE MyWay starts in English. You can also use Latvian or Russian. Choose a language in Settings or follow your device language. Your choice is saved, and switching languages does not interrupt recording.

YOUR PERSONAL MAP, ON YOUR PHONE No advertising or subscription. Recording works without an account. Your history stays on your device unless you choose cloud backup or join the leaderboard. Map and route providers receive the data needed for requests; your full walk history is not sent to them.

Recording can work offline; maps and route planning need an internet connection. Accuracy depends on GPS and phone permissions. Background recording uses battery power and may need to be resumed after force-closing the app.

A suggested route is an idea for a walk: follow signs, access restrictions and local conditions. Voice navigation is not included.
