CineLobby

CineLobby is a movie recommendation app built on real collaborative filtering — not a popularity list with your name on it.

HOW IT WORKS Rate a handful of well-known movies — not for me, haven't seen, liked it, or loved it — and CineLobby blends three signals to build your list:

• Collaborative filtering: your ratings are matched against patterns learned from a large real-world ratings dataset, the same technique behind the recommendation engines you already use. • Content matching: genre similarity to what you rated highly. • A quality signal: a statistically adjusted rating that keeps a movie with 3 ratings from outranking one with 300, so thin, noisy data doesn't skew your picks.

Not enough signal yet? CineLobby asks for a few more ratings rather than guessing — quality over speed.

FIND SOMETHING YOU HAVEN'T SEEN Filter recommendations by genre, decade (from classic-era film through the 2020s), and minimum audience rating. Already seen one of your picks? Tap it to swap in something new without losing the rest of your list. Tap any movie for "More like this."

BUILT FOR PRIVACY No account, no sign-up, no tracking. Your ratings live on your device. There's nothing to delete because there was never anything to collect.

CineLobby uses the MovieLens dataset for ratings data and TMDB for poster artwork.
