Meshwarak

Meshwarak is a calm driving companion for Egyptian roads: a big dashboard speedometer and an Egyptian voice that tells you what you need to know, when you need it, so you arrive safely and without stress. All of it works offline.

How it helps you drive safer • Reminds you of the speed limit on the road you are on, and tells you calmly when you go over it. • Warns you a kilometre before speed cameras, and again as you get close, so you ease off in time instead of braking hard. • Warns you before stretches where the mobile network drops, like the Red Sea road, and keeps working inside them. • A clear speedometer you can read at a glance, on the same scale as your car's. • Keeps speaking when you switch to your maps app, WhatsApp or anything else.

Why voice? So your eyes stay on the road. There is nothing you need to look at. Just listen.

Where it works Egypt's main roads: Greater Cairo, Alexandria and the Corniche, the Delta, the North Coast and the Red Sea road. On roads we have not mapped it stays silent instead of inventing alerts. Spotted something missing? Report it from inside the app.

Your privacy • Your account is just your name and phone number, and you can delete it from Settings at any time. • Alerts are computed on your phone. A trip summary uploads when you are online, minus the first and last half kilometre, so we can improve the service. • No ads, and we never sell your data.

Before you drive Meshwarak is no substitute for your attention or road signs. Mount your phone before you set off and rely on the voice. Real safety is staying under the limit.
