En bref

Music Aim is a music player for iPhone and iPad that builds its queue from every song in your library matching the current track on a chosen property, such as artist, genre, tempo, or play count. It also works in CarPlay, widgets, Live Activity, and on Apple Watch. A standout detail is that it runs with no account, ads, analytics, or tracking, and keeps your library and settings on the device.

À propos

Music Aim is a music player built around one question: what should play after this song?

Pick a target and the queue becomes every song in your library that matches the playing song on that property. The song carries on from where it is, and shuffle and repeat stay as you left them.

THIRTY TARGETS Album name, this album, artist, genre, all songs, song name, composer, grouping, year, decade, tempo, length, lyrics, comments, work, compilation, explicit, downloaded, rating, play count, skip count, last played, date added, your Liked list, Starred, Liked + Starred, a playlist and tags. Beyond your library, the same artist, album, genre or song name asked of Apple Music.

THE PLAYER The display in one square; the volume, the transport, Like, shuffle and repeat and your lists in another, with the four targets beside the transport, in a dark or a light skin drawn by the app, over plain, aurora and pattern backgrounds — or one in the colours of the cover that is playing. The target in force pulses through its button.

NOW PLAYING The target in force, then every target as a row with what it would play and how many songs that is. Tap a row to target it.

LYRICS AND THE ARTWORK VIEW The words stored in your songs, over the cover: timed lyrics light the line being sung and follow the song, and Sync Here aligns them to your recording. The artwork view shows the cover full screen with every piece of metadata under it, each row a target.

IN THE CAR, ON THE LOCK SCREEN, ON YOUR WRIST • CarPlay: Now Playing with the targets as large tiles, your Liked, Starred, Songs and Library. • Live Activity: the cover, a live timeline and nine buttons on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. • Widgets in every size, Control Center controls, and Siri: "Aim the artist", "Aim my favorite songs". • Apple Watch: the song and its cover, six targets, the transport and your playlists.

SHARE YOUR LISTS Send your Liked list, a playlist or all of them as a Music Aim file. Opened on a friend's device, it shows as shared by you, with the songs in their library marked and ready to play.

EVERY SCREEN The iPhone layout upright everywhere, two columns on an iPad sideways, and iPhone Duo closed, open and in either half beside another app.

PRIVATE No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Your library, your Liked list and your settings stay on your device.

THE STORY Every player still carries the controls born on 1960s tape recorders and 1980s CD players. Music Aim adds a twelfth: target. Its maker, Marcelo A. Mejía Cobo, built the first version in 2010, on the iPhone 4, and patented the idea — US 10,977,306, granted in 2021. In 2026 it was rebuilt for today's iPhone, iPad, iPhone Duo, CarPlay and Apple Watch. Target works on any media, not only music — and we would like the symbol to become a standard, like play and pause.

Music Aim plays the music in your library: songs you own, or Apple Music songs you have added (no download needed). Target Media Control, U.S. Pat. 10,977,306.
