Saltix – Screenshot Tool

Par Noel Weinberg · ProductivitéEn bref
Saltix is a macOS menu bar tool for capturing screen regions or windows with a shortcut, then annotating them with editable arrows, boxes, text, and blur. Its marks stay as objects that can be moved or changed until export, and captures are kept in a history of the last 20. It uploads nothing and needs only screen recording permission.

Press a shortcut, drag a frame, draw an arrow, hit Cmd+C. Two seconds, and no window steals your focus. That grab is all Saltix does.
Plus one difference: what you draw stays an object.
Most screenshot tools burn every arrow into the image the moment you let go. Put it two pixels off and your only way out is undo — which takes everything else with it. In Saltix every arrow, box and label stays its own object: move it, delete it, change its colour and thickness, for as long as the capture is open.
WHAT YOU GET
• Region capture on a shortcut you choose • Magnifier with pixel dimensions and the colour under the pointer • Snap to windows: hover, click, done • Arrow, line, rectangle, ellipse, freehand, text, highlighter • Blur and pixelate for redacting • Numbered circles for step-by-step walkthroughs • Undo across the whole session • Straight to the clipboard or to a file, with a folder and filename you decide • A history of your last 20 captures — still there after the clipboard has moved on
REDACTION THAT HOLDS
When you blur an address or a password, the exported file genuinely has no original pixels left in that area. The region is cut out, filtered and drawn back in — not covered with something that can be peeled away again.
SHARP ON EVERY DISPLAY
Saltix shows you points and exports pixels. An arrow that looks 3 points thick on a Retina display is 6 pixels thick in the export. That is why marks from Saltix come out as crisp as the screenshot itself, instead of the soft, thin lines you get from tools that skip that step.
STAYS WHERE IT BELONGS
Saltix uploads nothing. There is no network connection, no account, no sign-in. Your captures stay on your Mac. The app asks for exactly one permission — screen recording — and needs nothing else.
Saltix lives in the menu bar with no Dock icon, and speaks up only when you press the shortcut.
