Salvo: Ship Battle

Salvo brings the classic folding naval game to iPhone Duo in the shape you remember. Set the phone half-open on a table and it evokes the classic game case. Enemy waters stand upright on the top screen, your fleet and controls lie flat below, and shells arc over the hinge between them.

The fold is part of the game. Perspective and lighting shift as the hinge moves, and the raised board casts a shadow across your fleet. Open the phone flat like a book to put a board on each side, or close it and keep playing on the outer display. Whatever the position, the controls stay clear of the crease.

Three computer captains, a Daily Hunt that every player shares, and special weapons give you reasons to come back. An amber-and-cyan terminal interface frames glossy ships, falling pegs, splashes, and explosions. The result is the game you played as a kid, rebuilt around how iPhone Duo folds, stands on a table, and sits in your hands.
