En bref

Tiny AV Sync matches separately recorded audio to camera clips on a Mac and corrects steady clock drift, outputting synchronized MOV files with a separate audio track for each match. It is aimed at filmmakers who record sound on a separate device, and it runs entirely on the computer while leaving originals untouched. A free 30-day trial is included, followed by a one-time lifetime unlock; it requires Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later.

À propos

Tiny AV Sync matches separately recorded audio to your camera clips and corrects steady clock drift.

Put your clips and recordings in one folder. Drop it into the app. Get synchronized MOV files, with a separate audio track for each matched recording.

Everything happens on your Mac. Originals stay untouched.

After a long day shooting with my beloved Sony camera and Zoom field recorder, sorting files and syncing sound was painful. It was a massive psychological barrier to editing. I made this little tool for myself, and it took that pain away. One problem deleted.

AUDIO • 16-bit and 24-bit PCM, and 32-bit float recordings • Original sample rates and channel counts retained • Camera audio replaced by matched recordings

INPUT FORMATS • Video: MOV, MP4, M4V • Audio: WAV, AIFF, CAF, FLAC, M4A, AAC, MP3

Your camera needs reference sound that overlaps with the separate recording. Codec support depends on macOS. A report lists matches, unmatched files and warnings.

Video is copied without re-encoding, with source metadata carried over where supported. Complete metadata, timecode and HDR preservation are not guaranteed. Try your own footage and check the results in your editor.

Output audio is uncompressed, so files can grow.
