Abeam: NMEA & Signal K

Abeam shows your boat's NMEA or Signal K Wi-Fi data in a chart view or an instrument view. The instrument view is drawn like marine instrument displays: wind gauge and large-number pages. The chart view shows live true and apparent wind direction, and AIS targets with all of their broadcasted information. It also includes an off heading alarm, anchor alarm, historical graphs for all data, Dynamic Island, Live Activities and an Apple Watch app.

Abeam is free. It is a side project: I wanted a better app for my own boat, so I built this one. If you find it useful, there is a Buy Byron a Pint button in Settings.

Chart view • Live true and apparent wind direction. • AIS targets with name, course, speed, CPA and TCPA. AIS alarm. • Anchor watch with drag alarm.

Instruments • Wind gauge, apparent and true. • Heading, COG and wind shift. • Average heading, average COG, average wind direction. • SOG with the difference from STW. • Current set and drift. • Speed, depth, water temperature, trip log, race timer. • All fields customizable. Graphs for all data. • Night mode.

Alarms • Anchor drag, off heading, AIS, watch timer.

Lock Screen and Apple Watch • Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island with the fields you choose. • Apple Watch app with the same fields.

Battery • Phone GPS and background updates are off by default.
