Drive Verdict: USB Checker

Cheap flash drives often lie about their size: they accept your files and quietly lose them. This app tells you the truth about any drive you plug in.

FULL CHECK • Fills the free space with test data and reads every block back • Each block is stamped with its own position, so a counterfeit can't fake a pass • Tells you the drive's real usable size if it's fake • Your existing files are left alone, and test files are always deleted

SPEED TEST • Real write and read speeds, measured without the Mac's cache • Small random reads, for how snappy the drive feels

CONNECTION CHECK • Shows the actual USB link speed and explains problems plainly, like "this USB 3 drive is running at USB 2 speed, try another cable"

REPORTS • A clear Passed / Needs attention / Failed verdict • Save as PDF or copy as text, handy for a refund request • History of every drive you've checked

SAFE Only drives you plug in can be tested, never your Mac's startup disk. It writes only to the drive you choose.
