Learn Go, also known as Baduk, Weiqi or Igo, with Gopetal for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Start with your first stone, build confidence through visual lessons and daily puzzles, then play offline or with friends. All lessons, puzzles, board sizes and game modes are free. Optional purchases are cosmetic.

LEARN GO FROM THE BEGINNING • New to Go? Meet Go introduces the goal, turns, liberties, captures and scoring through six animated steps, with no questions or practice required. • Follow 48 lessons across eight units, with a checkpoint after each unit. • Watch highlighted demonstrations, try guided board exercises, reason about the position and apply the idea in fresh practice. • Progress from groups and liberties to eyes, life and death, ladders, nets, ko, opening priorities, territory, endgame and scoring. • Pause, replay or jump into practice. Saved progress, bookmarks and completion celebrations help you keep going.

DAILY GO PUZZLES Choose Easy, Medium, Hard or Challenger. A bundled 365-day schedule offers Go problems with hints, defensive replies and saved attempts, even offline. Track your own times and personal records. Puzzle results are personal, with no public puzzle leaderboard; puzzles change at midnight UTC.

PLAY YOUR WAY • Choose 9×9, 13×13 or 19×19 boards. • Practice against Gentle, Balanced or Advanced bots with local move hints. • Share one device, or host and join a nearby game with approval and a verification code. • Use Game Center for turn-based games, live matches and friend invitations. Live games give each player 10 minutes and start after both accept. • In a new turn-based game, Black can play the opening move right away and save it for a later opponent. You do not need to stay online together.

SAVE, REPLAY AND STUDY SGF Keep active games, saved recordings and imported SGFs together. Explore SGF collections, variations, comments and game details. Replay placements and captures, pause or step through moves, and export game records. Start practice from compatible positions as Black or White, preserving the turn and repetition history. Unsupported imported rules remain clearly marked, read-only study records.

UNDERSTAND THE SCORE Native games use area scoring, positional superko, no suicide and 7.5 komi for White. After two passes, review dead groups and the score together, or resume play to settle a disagreement.

MAKE THE BOARD YOURS Pastel Garden and Classic Clarity are included, along with 15 free reaction stickers. Optional permanent bundles add 35 illustrated sets and matching reactions; All Access includes all sets, boards, 66 reactions and 100 player logos. Purchases do not improve your playing strength or unlock lessons. No subscriptions.

Play, Learn, Games and Profile keep your next step close. Track personal achievements and statistics, and optionally sync progress, learning, puzzle history and study records privately with iCloud. Game Center rankings count online wins; puzzle records stay personal.

Use simple stones, coordinates, sound controls and reduced motion to suit your board. Offline practice needs no app account. Online play requires Game Center and internet access; Nearby requires local-network permission. No advertising or third-party analytics SDK is included.
