This app is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) or any other authority. The questions come from the published question catalogue (Gesamtfragenkatalog, Annex 1 of the Einbürgerungstestverordnung; version of 7 May 2025). The test is taken in German only. Translations and explanations are unofficial study aids; only the German wording is binding.

WHY HEDI The questions are public. Hedi adds the why behind every answer, in your language – and an honest estimate of when you're ready. It matters: the test is in German only, and registering for the Einbürgerungstest costs €25.

UNDERSTAND EVERY ANSWER • All 460 questions: 300 general questions and 10 for each of the 16 federal states. • "Warum?" ("Why?") in simple German, with your language beneath. • Background: the history behind the answer. Every explanation names its sources. • All picture questions with their pictures. • A glossary of 400 words: article, plain explanation, translation and audio. • Wissen ("Knowledge"): five short chapters on history, the state, the federal states, the Basic Law and living together.

KNOW WHERE YOU STAND • A practice exam in the test format: 33 questions in 60 minutes, 30 general and 3 from your federal state. You pass with 17 (15 is enough for the integration course test). • Exam-day mode: German only, no hints, like the paper test. • Readiness, worked out from your own answers. The app says "Ready" only after you pass a practice exam in German. • Flashcards with spaced repetition: a question comes back just before you'd forget it. • Mistakes list: a question stays until you answer it correctly on two different days. • A study plan up to your exam date. • "My real test": a checklist for test day and the rules of the paper test.

You can switch the translation off.

You can turn Hedi down or off. • A daily goal, a streak with a rest day, and reminders if you want them. • Large text and dark mode.

FAIR AND PRIVATE • Pay once, everything included: no subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads. • No account, no login, no analytics. Works offline. • Buy once, use it on all your devices – iPhone and iPad with the same Apple Account.

GOOD TO KNOW • Explanations and translations are made with AI assistance; the explanations are fact-checked against primary sources. • The catalogue version (7 May 2025) and the date the answers were checked: Profile › About this app. • After installation, the app asks Apple once whether you arrived through an Apple Ads advert (if Apple's answer isn't ready yet, it asks again on the next launches). Nothing else leaves your device – except iCloud sync, if you turn it on. • Found a mistake? In the app: "Report a problem". • We can't promise that you'll pass. But you'll always know where you stand.
