Moonsill

When it rains where you live, it rains on your windowsill.

Moonsill is a small garden on a painted windowsill that follows your real weather. Rain fills your rain barrel, and you pour it on your plants. Sunny days help them bloom. The view outside changes with your season, from monsoon rain to snow, and at night the moon you see in the window is tonight's moon.

REAL WEATHER, NOT A GUESS Most weather apps show a forecast, even for "now". Moonsill checks what's actually happening: nearby airport weather reports, and satellite rain where there's no airport close. If it's dry and hot outside, it's dry and hot on your sill.

GROW A GARDEN THAT FITS YOUR SKY - 28 plants, each with the weather it loves: hibiscus and jasmine in the tropics, hydrangea and plum blossom in East Asia, snowdrops and hellebores where winters are cold - Plants never die. A missed week just means a thirsty garden - 14 visitors come by in the right weather: a frog in heavy rain, a tuko gecko on humid evenings, a kingfisher at dawn after a night of rain, a white moth on still full-moon nights

AN ALMANAC OF YOUR YEAR Every day is pressed into your almanac: rain days and dry days, the flowers that bloomed, the visitors who came. Press your best blooms into a scrapbook page and share it.

THE SKY OVER YOUR CITY Moon phases, the next full moon and meteor showers, worked out for where you are. On a full moon, the moonflower opens, if the clouds allow.

YOUR GARDEN ON YOUR HOME SCREEN Widgets for your window, the rain jar, the sky, the plant of the day and more.

GARDEN WITH FRIENDS Swap friend codes, send a cutting or a note. No chat, no typing, no followers. Your friends never see where you live.

GENTLE BY DESIGN No ads. No energy timers. No streaks to lose. When there's a storm warning where you are, the garden goes quiet and calm.

FREE TO PLAY, ONE PURCHASE IF YOU LOVE IT Your sill of four spots, your real weather, gifts from friends and everything you grow are free, always. The full garden opens the shelf and hooks, every plant and visitor, all the widgets and the scrapbook. One purchase, no subscription, nothing else to buy.

PRIVATE No account and no sign-up. Moonsill uses your city as a 10 km area, never your exact location, and you can just type a city instead.

Weather: airport reports from the NOAA Aviation Weather Center, satellite rain from GSMaP (c)JAXA, and Apple Weather.
