FloodAhead

Check what lies ahead before you set off.

FloodAhead helps you check a driving route against current flood warnings and reported road closures. It detects where your selected route crosses Environment Agency flood warning areas and combines this with supported road closure and restriction information from National Highways.

Instead of checking a flood map and road information separately, FloodAhead brings both into one route-focused view.

CHECK YOUR ROUTE

Choose a destination and see whether your route crosses any current flood warning areas or reported road events.

COMPARE ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

Compare available routes using detected flood warnings, reported road closures and restrictions, and estimated journey time.

FloodAhead does not label a route as “safe”. It gives you clear information about what has been detected so you can make your own travel decision.

SEE WHAT AFFECTS YOUR JOURNEY

For each detected warning or road event you can see:

• the type of warning or restriction • where it appears along your journey • the distance from the start of your route • how much of the route is affected • the official data source
