Insomio is a lightweight menu bar app that prevents automatic idle sleep. Whether you are downloading a large file, waiting for a long task, or giving a presentation, choose a duration and get back to what matters.

AWAKE ON YOUR SCHEDULE Choose 10 or 30 minutes; 1, 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours; or keep your Mac awake indefinitely. See the remaining time in the menu and deactivate whenever you are done.

CONTROL YOUR DISPLAY Keep both your Mac and display awake for a presentation, or let the display sleep while your Mac continues working in the background.

QUICK ACCESS, LESS FUSS Manage sessions from the menu bar, set a global keyboard shortcut, and choose whether Insomio launches at login. Launching the app and automatically starting an awake session are separate preferences.

POWER-AWARE BEHAVIOR Optionally end a session when your Mac switches to battery power. Reconnecting power does not automatically start another session. After system sleep, only an unexpired session that you have not deactivated resumes on wake.

LOCAL AND PRIVATE No account, ads, or tracking SDKs. Your preferences stay on your Mac, and the sleep-prevention feature works locally.

Made for macOS 14 Sonoma and later. Supports Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, with an interface available in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Chinese (Hong Kong), Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.

Insomio prevents automatic idle sleep. It does not override closing the lid, manually choosing Sleep, or macOS power protections. Quitting the app ends the active awake session.
