Qamar Skywatch

Qamar tells you when tonight is worth shooting.

If you photograph the Moon and planets, you know the problem: Saturn is up, but is it high enough? Is the sky dark yet? Will the clouds roll in? Qamar works it out for your location and gives you a clear answer, then keeps a journal of every shot you take.

TONIGHT'S QUEST See the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn rated for your exact location and time. Qamar picks tonight's best target and the moment it peaks, with the cloud cover forecast alongside.

PLAN YOUR SHOT Tap any planet to see its altitude through the night, plus when it rises, peaks and sets, so you know when to set up.

GET A HEADS-UP Evening reminders tell you what's worth shooting and when. Choose which bodies you want to hear about.

KEEP A SKY JOURNAL Add photos from your camera or library. Qamar fills in the target, the planet's altitude, the Moon's illumination and the cloud cover for the time of the shot, and you add a note. Filter by target and look back on your nights out.

FILL YOUR SKYDEX Every planet you photograph unlocks an entry in your Skydex, a collection screen with levels, badges and Moon phases to catch. It's a game-style reason to get out under the sky.

MADE FOR NIGHT A dark, retro pixel-art design that's easy on the eyes after dark.

PRIVATE AND SIMPLE No sign-up needed. Qamar uses your location to calculate the sky and look up the cloud forecast, and your photos and journal stay on your device.
