ProofBook: Contractor Reports

Before, during and after: shot, captioned and handed over as one tidy PDF. ProofBook is for renovation contractors and remodelers who want a straight record of each visit. Tag every shot by stage, work through the checklist, log what is still open and give the client a branded report before you pack up the truck. It documents what you enter. It isn't a certified inspection or a legal document.

SHOOT IT ROOM BY ROOM • Set up a job, split it into areas like kitchen, bath or exterior, and shoot with the back camera or bring shots in from Photos and Files. • Mark each one Before, During or After, and link a before shot to its after. • Crop, rotate, draw arrows, boxes and labels, or black out a house number or paperwork. Blacked-out areas are burned into the picture that goes in the report. • Captions are written for the client. Internal notes stay private and never print.

WORK THE PUNCH LIST • Start from the built-in renovation handover checklist. • Answer items Done, Not done or Not applicable, with a reason where one is needed. • Log findings with photos, a status of Open, In progress or Resolved, and a follow-up date if you want one. • Open items stay in the report. ProofBook will not hide unfinished work to make a job look done.

HAND OVER A CLEAN PDF • Put your business name and logo on it, set the page to Letter or A4, and pick standard or detail image quality. • Look through the exact file before you share it, print it or save it to Files. • A long caption carries on to the next page instead of getting cut off. • Want it acknowledged on site? The client can confirm "I have been shown this report" with a name and an optional drawn mark. Skip it whenever it is not needed.

COME BACK FOR THE NEXT VISIT • Every prepared report is kept as its own version. Change the job and you get a new revision, while the copy you already issued stays exactly as it was. • Archive wrapped-up jobs and reopen them later. • Once photos are in a job, the whole job and report workflow runs offline. There is no ProofBook account to set up. • Keep an editable backup in a location you pick. It holds your original photos and internal notes, so store it with care.

WHAT PRO ADDS Without Pro you run one active job at a time, with every capture, markup, checklist, branding, PDF and backup tool included. Archive a job to start the next one. ProofBook Pro raises that to 100 active jobs at once and saves your own job templates and report styles. Monthly and annual Pro plans unlock the same features. Each plan auto-renews until it is turned off under Subscriptions in the Settings app, and the purchase sheet states the charge for your region. If Pro lapses, your jobs, reports and saved templates stay open and editable.

THE FINE PRINT ProofBook keeps the record you write. It does not certify inspections, find defects for you, vouch for workmanship or verify who acknowledged a report, and an acknowledgment is not a legally binding e-signature. Each job holds up to 200 photos, and a report runs to 100 pages plus the acknowledgment page. Runs on iOS 26 and newer.
