Photographers know them from the crop tool: golden spiral, rule of thirds, phi grid. Fotouhr turns them into clock faces. The clock sits where the subject would sit in a good picture – in the eye of the spiral or on an intersection of the lines. SIX RULES OF COMPOSITION • Golden spiral: the numerals follow the spiral, large on the wide side, small in the eye. • Rule of thirds and phi grid: the clock sits on an intersection. • Golden triangle, diagonal method and symmetry. The focal point can go in any corner. The dial fills the whole frame as an oval – or stays classically round. WITH A RUNNING SECOND HAND Widgets normally redraw only once a minute. Fotouhr's second hand runs anyway – on the spiral and the oval it even grows longer and shorter.
