In short

ChaseScanner notifies you when a police pursuit appears on live streams from five Los Angeles TV stations, then plays the broadcast inside the app. It suits people who follow local news and want one alert per chase, with no account or location access required. The app also keeps a pursuit log and a helicopter map, with the full log and map limits part of an optional Pro subscription.

About

ChaseScanner tells you when a police chase is on the air in Los Angeles.

A detector watches the live streams of FOX 11, ABC7, KTLA 5, NBC4, and CBS2/KCAL9 around the clock. When one of them starts a pursuit stream, your phone gets a notification, usually within a couple of minutes, and the stream plays inside the app. One chase means one alert, even when several stations are covering it.

WHAT YOU GET

- Pursuit alerts. Turn them on once. Nothing else to configure. - Live broadcast. The station's stream plays in the app. When more than one station is up, switch between them. - Pursuit log. Every recent chase with the stations that covered it, when it started, and how long it ran. The newest chase is free; the full log is part of Pro. - Chase status. A single readout: NO CHASE or ACTIVE. - Live helicopter map. News and police helicopters over the basin, their trails, and a convergence readout that hints when they are gathering on one spot. Free for five minutes a day; unlimited with ChaseScanner Pro.

CHASESCANNER PRO

The full pursuit log and the helicopter map without limits. A monthly subscription with a 3-day free trial, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Alerts and live streams stay free for everyone.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

- No account, no sign-in. - No location. The app never asks where you are. - No ads, no analytics, no tracking. Pro is optional; alerts and live streams never need it.

The only thing stored is your device's notification token, and only if you turn alerts on.

Streams belong to the stations and play through YouTube. ChaseScanner points you at them. Aircraft data comes from ADSB.lol contributors under the Open Database License and is best-effort.

ChaseScanner is for watching the news, not for going to the scene. Never drive toward a pursuit, never use the app while driving, and always follow the instructions of law enforcement.
