In short

Farsight: Road Trip Advisor is a travel app that works out the best time to leave for a drive. Users name a destination and time, and it checks the route, town forecasts, weather alerts, road reports and traffic before recommending a departure time with a short reason. What stands out is that it can plan charging stops from a Tesla's actual battery, read-only.

About

Farsight tells you the best time to leave for a drive.

Say where you're going and when, the way you'd tell a friend: "Glenwood Springs tomorrow around 9" or "Moab to Salt Lake Sunday morning, and back". Farsight finds your route, checks the forecast at each town for when you'll actually be there, looks at weather-service alerts, road reports, winter road conditions and rush-hour traffic, and recommends when to leave, with a short reason.

Along the way • See every town on your route with the weather you'll meet there • Compare other leave times and other roads • Round trips plan the drive back too • Charging stops at real chargers (Superchargers for Teslas) and fuel stops for gas cars, from your car's real range • Connect your Tesla to plan from its actual battery (read only, never woken) • Rest breaks and stops you ask for, counted in every time

During the drive • Farsight keeps checking the road ahead, including traffic, and tells you only when something changes • Stop for lunch and everything ahead moves with you • Leave the planned road and it follows the one you're on • Start drives and see what's next from Apple Watch

Where it works Trips anywhere in the lower 48 states and Alaska. Weather, weather alerts and traffic cover every route. Road reports come from state transportation departments, and coverage varies: crashes, closures and construction in 21 states (including Utah, Colorado, Arizona, California, Texas and Washington), construction only in 12 (including Florida), and none yet in 14. Each trip says which states on the way have only part of the picture, and your free first trip shows what Farsight has on your roads. Full list: https://www.parallel41.ai/farsight/coverage

Buying trips Your first trip and the drive home are free. After that, buy trips as you need them: 1 trip or 5. One-time purchases, no subscription, and trips never expire. Each trip includes the drive home. Terms: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ · Privacy: https://www.parallel41.ai/farsight/privacy
