JUPITER Imposition – Prepress

JUPITER is print imposition and costing software for print shops. It works out sheet cutting, label and business-card step-and-repeat, book and magazine signatures and box dielines in one app, and produces the press-ready PDF. It works without an internet connection, and your files and prices never leave your Mac.

What it does • Sheet cutting: finds how many pieces a stock sheet yields with the least waste, keeping grain direction when needed. • Labels and business cards: step-and-repeat your PDF on the sheet, generate missing bleed and add trim marks. • Signature imposition: lays out book and magazine signatures in folding order, with creep allowance. • Boxes and dielines: FEFCO/ECMA templates or your own die file; a 3D preview of how the box folds and a check for dies that overlap. • Gang runs: combine different jobs on one sheet. • Digital printing: cut-and-stack layouts, duplex and click costs. • Costing and quotes: paper, plates, printing, make-ready and finishing (lamination, varnish, foil, embossing), plus a customer quote that hides your cost breakdown. • Finishing: lamination, hot foil, embossing, varnish and spot UV. Sheets, waste and cost are calculated automatically, and the foil, embossing and spot UV die artwork is placed exactly over the print. • Preflight: bleed, resolution, colour and font checks; PDF/X-4 conversion. • Barcodes: EAN/UPC, Code 128/39, GS1-128, ITF-14, QR, Data Matrix and serial numbers. • Job archive, operator job tickets, machine profiles and reports.

Subscription Install it and try it on your own jobs: calculations, layouts, diagrams and previews work without a subscription. Saving the press-ready PDF needs an annual or monthly subscription; new subscribers get a 7-day free trial.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or at the end of the free trial if one applies. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in App Store → Account → Subscriptions. For a renewal to reach the app, the Mac needs to go online once at the end of each period.
