In short

My Photos: PC Backup copies the photos and videos on an iPhone to a Windows PC the user owns, over a private Tailscale network, with no cloud account or subscription. The PC handles duplicate detection, text and object search, trips, places and memory videos. It suits people who want their photo library kept on their own hardware, and it stands out for its no-cloud design.

About

Your photos, backed up to your own PC. No cloud account, no subscription, no company in the middle.

My Photos copies the photos and videos on your iPhone to a Windows PC that you own, over your private network. The PC does the clever work on its own hardware: it finds duplicates, reads the words in your photos, sorts trips and places, and builds memories. Everything it learns comes back to your iPhone in this app, fast.

WHAT IT DOES - Backs up every photo and video in the background, keeping the original file byte for byte, with its date and place - Photos: your whole library by day, with Videos and Live Photos views and bursts stacked into one best shot - Find: search by what is in the picture ("dog on the beach") or by any word in any photo or document ("Costco total"); results appear at once and keep coming as you scroll - Map: every place you took photos, grouped into bubbles that open straight to those photos - Collections: trips, places, documents, receipts and your favourites, sorted by the PC - Create: Year Recap, memory videos and "On this day" - Clean up: duplicates found by your PC (it keeps the best copy and checks it before offering anything on your phone), blurry shots, big videos and screenshots; everything goes to a 30-day trash first - Locked photos stay out of every search, map and memory - People (optional, off until you turn it on): your PC groups faces so you can name and find people; it all happens on your PC - Try the demo: explore a pretend library without pairing a PC

WHERE YOUR PHOTOS GO Only to the PC you paired with, over the private network you set up with the separate Tailscale app, by the PC's https name. My Photos itself only connects to your own PC. No photo, thumbnail, face or search data is ever sent to the developer or to any other company. The PC runs all recognition itself; nothing goes to an outside AI service. There is no account and no server run by the developer.

WHAT YOU NEED - A Windows PC running the My Photos server software, set up on your own hardware - The free Tailscale app on your iPhone and on the PC, both joined to the same private Tailscale network - The PC's https name on that network turned on (Tailscale HTTPS); the app reaches the PC only that way - A pairing link or QR code from the PC. This version pairs only with a PC on the Tailscale network it was set up for; a phone can be revoked from the PC at any time - No PC yet? "Try the demo" works without one
