PhotoMop: Photo Cleaner

PhotoMop finds the photos wasting space on your phone — screenshots you no longer need, blurry out-of-focus shots, burst duplicates and other clutter — and lets you review and delete them in a few taps.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything runs 100% on your device. Your photos are never uploaded to any server, and no account or sign-in is required. The app only goes online if you choose to download the optional on-device AI model — and even then it only fetches the model file itself, nothing about you or your photos.

WHAT IT FINDS • Screenshots — detected by filename and album rules, zero false positives • Blurry photos — Laplacian sharpness analysis flags out-of-focus shots • Burst duplicates — photos taken within 0.5s of each other are grouped, and the sharpest one is recommended to keep • Photographed screens — camera shots of monitors, TVs and whiteboards (optional, AI-powered) • Clutter shots — supermarket shelves, product displays and similar reference photos (optional, AI-powered)

SMART SAFETY NET Photos identified as portraits or landscapes are automatically protected and never appear in any cleanup suggestion — even if they also look blurry or match other rules.

REVIEW BEFORE YOU DELETE Nothing is ever deleted automatically. You get a clear "to delete" / "to keep" review list, can open any photo full-size, and deleted photos first go to the system's Recently Deleted album where they can be recovered.

ON-DEVICE AI (OPTIONAL) Enable the AI features with a one-tap download of the EmbeddingGemma 2 model (~388 MB, downloaded once from Hugging Face). Without it, the app still works using fast pixel-level analysis — the status banner always shows which engine is in use.

SCAN AT YOUR PACE Start with a small test batch, then run the full library when you're happy. Scanning can be stopped and resumed at any time — progress is never lost.
