Selvory Fabric Layout

Selvory turns your owned SVG pattern contours into a fabric-roll placement layout on iPhone and iPad.

A REAL PLACEMENT WORKSPACE Import plain SVG contours, choose the physical scale in mm per SVG unit, and set roll width, clearance and edge margin. Set each piece's quantity and allowed rotation: fixed, half turn or right angles. Source Y is the grain-direction assumption you choose; Selvory does not detect grain. The preview shows actual placed contours, direction arrows, used length, placed count and contour-area usage.

OUTPUT YOU CAN USE Export a sampled SVG layout with physical mm dimensions, a two-page PDF overview and placement schedule, placement CSV, your unchanged original SVG and a restorable Selvory project JSON. A ZIP contains those five files. Preview the actual PDF and share through the system sheet.

KEEP YOUR WORK Save up to 20 layouts with their original source bytes and settings. Rename, duplicate or delete layouts. Restore your exported project JSON to continue editing. Production starts empty; an original editable tote study is available when you choose it. On iPad, the roll and its controls sit side by side.

SUPPORTED INPUT AND LIMITS Plain UTF-8 SVG up to 512 KB: one closed contour per path, polygon or square-corner rectangle. Up to 12 source shapes and 24 copies; quantity 1–4 per shape. Curves are sampled at 12 points per command, up to 192 vertices per contour. Holes, compound paths, self-intersections, CSS/effects/hidden shapes, nested SVG viewports, text and raster images are unsupported. Roll width 100–2000 mm, scale 0.01–10 mm per SVG unit, clearance and edge margin 0–50 mm. Layout length is limited to 5000 mm. Grid 5, 10 or 20 mm. Detailed or search-heavy inputs may require a coarser grid or fewer pieces.

This is conservative greedy grid placement, not globally optimal nesting. Clearance and edges round upward to the grid. Partial results cannot be exported. Area usage is a contour-area ratio, not a savings guarantee. PDF is an overview, not a 1:1 cutting template. Check scale, sampled geometry, grain, seam allowances and material requirements before cutting. No pattern drafting, grading, seam-allowance generation, automatic grain recognition, PDF pattern import, cutter integration or production certification. Use only files you have rights to use.
