En resumen
Profound: News Explained is a news app that offers short AI summaries of selected science and economic announcements, drawn from official feeds such as NASA, the Federal Reserve Board and NIST. It is aimed at readers who want context on those announcements, with questions tailored to each story and answers that cite their sources. One notable point is that AI-written summaries are clearly labelled and kept separate from the original reporting.

Profound helps you understand selected science and economic announcements with short AI summaries and answers grounded in original sources.
INITIAL COVERAGE This first release draws from permitted official feeds, including NASA, the Federal Reserve Board and NIST. Coverage is limited and depends on new announcements; some categories may have no stories.
ONE STORY. ONE SWIPE. Each story fills the screen: a clear headline, a short summary and why it matters. Swipe up for the next one. No endless lists, no clutter.
ASK PROFOUND Every story comes with questions worth asking — "Why does this matter?", "Who is affected?", "What happens next?" — tailored to the story. Tap one and the answer appears instantly. Or ask anything in your own words and keep the conversation going with follow-ups.
GROUNDED IN REAL REPORTING When several publishers cover the same event, Profound brings their coverage together into one story and shows every source. Answers cite the reporting they're based on and say plainly when the evidence is limited. Tap any source to read the original article.
CLEARLY LABELLED Summaries and answers are written by AI and always marked as such, kept separate from the original reporting. Profound stays neutral on politics and gives factual context, not financial advice.
BUILT FOR YOUR DAY • Browse available stories by category, including Business and Science • Explore trending topics, companies and people, and follow the ones you care about • Search stories, topics and companies • Save stories to read later • Works offline: recent stories and their answers stay on your phone • Beautiful light and dark modes, with support for larger text
PRIVATE BY DESIGN No sign-up and no ads. Profound uses an anonymous ID on your device, with no cross-app tracking.
