Exorcise – Delete Your Ex

Some people should not be in your camera roll anymore.

Choose who it is, and Exorcise gathers every photo of them from your Apple Photos library and splits them into two piles: ones where they are alone, and ones where they are with people you still care about. The group shots from your sister's wedding deserve a different decision than four hundred selfies.

You review everything before anything happens. Uncheck the photos you want to keep, then send each pile to the trash when you are sure about it. macOS asks you to confirm every delete, and deleted photos sit in the Recently Deleted album for 30 days, so nothing is gone in one click.

Not ready to delete? File the photos into two tidy albums instead and decide later. That path never deletes anything.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

- It uses the people your Photos app already knows. There is no new face scanning and nothing to train. - Bursts count as every frame, so the number on the button is the number that goes. - It works with iCloud Photos. A delete reaches all your devices, and the 30 days to get photos back apply there too. - It runs entirely on your Mac. There is no account and no analytics, and Exorcise itself has no internet access.

WHAT YOU NEED

- macOS 14 or later - Your Photos library in your Pictures folder - People named in the Photos app (open People & Pets and add names)

Exorcise reads the people information your Photos app has already built, so it is exactly as accurate as Photos itself.
