Odin's Chess

No Ads, No Subscriptions, No Tracking.

Odin's Chess is chess played with standing figures in the style of the Lewis chessmen — the twelfth-century Norse set of seated kings, thoughtful queens and warders with sword and shield — on an oak board. Pick up a piece, see every square it can reach, and set it down. Play Classic chess or seven more boards, against the computer, on one screen, with someone in the same room, or online.

Choose the Lewis set or flat sigils, and an oak, iron-bound, engraved cherry or green leather board.

ONE PURCHASE, EVERY SCREEN

Buy it once and play it on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac. On the Apple TV the board stands at an angle, made to be read from across the room, and the Siri Remote moves a piece in two clicks. On the Mac it is a native app with menus and the keyboard. On iPhone and iPad you tap or drag, and in Pass & Play the board can turn to face whoever is to move.

OPTIMIZED FOR IPHONE DUO

Open the phone and the board fills the inner display; close it and your game carries on, on the outer display, right where you were.

PLAY PEOPLE, NOT A SERVER

Pass & Play: two players, one screen. Nearby: connect device to device over the room's network and play without any account. Online, live or turn-based, through Game Center: your matches wait in one place, with your move on top. No sign-up, no company server and no subscription. Everything but the online games works on a plane.

ONE PRICE, NOTHING ELSE

No ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no tracking and no account. Nothing to unlock and nothing to buy: every board, every set and every rule is in the game you bought. A child can play it unattended, and the only other games it ever mentions are our own.
