Churu Shuttle

Churu Shuttle is an app for recording the stray cats in your neighborhood, together.

When you meet a cat on the street, take a photo and give it a name. The next neighbor who meets the same cat taps "I met this cat too" and adds to the record. As several people's notes pile up on one cat, you start to see where that cat lives and how it's doing.

■ One cat a day You get one churu a day, so you can register one new cat a day. This isn't an app for shooting as much as you can. It's an app for properly looking at one cat instead of walking past it.

■ Adding to a record When you meet a cat that's already here, leave your name and write down how it was that day. The app records that you were the 3rd, 4th, 10th person to meet it. Take a photo and the app asks first: "could this be this cat?"

■ Collection Every cat you've met stacks up in your collection, and the calendar marks each day you met one with a paw print.

■ Browse · Map Scroll through the cats near you first. On the map, the cats people have recorded sit as stickers inside their neighborhood — zoom in and you get down to the district. It works outside Korea too: pick a country and you appear on the world map. There are no exact spots, anywhere.

■ Stickers Any cat you register can be saved as a sticker with the background removed. Use it as a messenger profile or in a story.

■ Your own cat You can register the cat you live with and show it off. That doesn't use churu.

■ Locations are never stored If a stray cat's exact location goes public, it can be used to hurt it. So the app never asks for location permission, and GPS data in your photos is stripped on your phone before anything is uploaded. What gets recorded is the neighborhood name you picked from a list — district, and sub-district if you want.

■ No login No sign-up, no login. Open the app and you've started. You can delete everything you've recorded at any time from More.
