SpectraScope

SpectraScope is a kaleidoscope made of real glass. Every piece of coloured glass is ray-traced as it tumbles between the mirrors, so light bends, splits into colour and glows through it the way it does in a brass kaleidoscope.

TURN IT LIKE THE REAL THING • Twist with two fingers to turn the tube, or turn the phone itself. • Shake firmly and the glass tumbles into a new view. • Soft glass chimes ring as the pieces touch. Turn them off any time.

REACH IN AND STIR • Drag on the kaleidoscope to stir the glass under your finger. • Open the desk view to move pieces around the tray.

LOOK THROUGH IT AT THE WORLD • The camera view turns what's around you into the view through the mirrors. Frames stay on your phone: nothing is recorded, saved or sent.

A LAMP AND A CLOCK • Stand your phone up and SpectraScope becomes a slowly turning lamp with a clock.

CLEAR, QUIET CONTROLS • Controls in Apple's Liquid Glass stay out of the way until you need them. • A built-in guard watches every frame for flashes and fast flicker and softens them. It respects Reduce Motion.
