Därför förväntar vi oss mycket av den: A clear, focused tool for audiobook narrators that checks files against ACX requirements before upload.

Kort sagt

Audiobook Author checks audiobook recordings and cover art against retailer requirements such as ACX, flagging each chapter with a status light and naming what cannot be fixed. Its Pro tier can auto-fix levels and peaks, convert to MP3, and assemble a chaptered M4B with cover art. Everything runs locally on the Mac, with no account or upload.

Om appen

Audiobook Author gets your recordings ready for the shop you submit to — and shows you exactly why a file is not ready yet.

CHECK • Measures every chapter against the retailer's published requirements: average level (RMS) or integrated loudness (LUFS), peaks, noise floor, room tone at head and tail, sample rate, channels and file length. • A status light per chapter. One click shows what was measured and what is required. • Checks your cover before you upload: size, square format, file type and color space.

CORRECT (PRO) • Auto-fix sets the level, holds peaks under the ceiling with a look-ahead limiter, and pads room tone taken from your own recording. • What cannot honestly be fixed — a noisy room, a recording without a single pause — is named, not hidden. • Your originals are never changed. A file in the way is moved to a backup folder, never overwritten.

DELIVER • Converts to MP3 at the target's settings — for ACX (Audible): 192 kbps constant bit rate, 44.1 kHz, mono. • Assembles a chaptered M4B audiobook with cover art and metadata for Apple Books and most audiobook players (Pro). • Retail samples, audiobook import, batch processing and your own targets (Pro).

MADE FOR THE MAC • Everything happens on your Mac: no account, no upload, no tracking. • Reads title, author and narrator off your cover art. • Long jobs run in the background; a status bar shows their progress. • In 15 languages.

LITE AND PRO Lite is free: library, cover checks, the full analysis and five MP3 conversions. Pro is a one-time purchase — no subscription — that removes the limit and unlocks every tool.

Built by one person who actually uses it. If something in your workflow is missing, write to me — I read every message.
