Cartina

A dark globe where every country you have visited lights up. Spin it with your finger, tap a country, watch your map fill in year after year.

Further than countries.

Most travel maps stop at national borders. Cartina goes down to provinces, states, regions and prefectures — 3,649 subdivisions across 239 countries. You did not “visit the United States”, you visited California, Oregon and Maine.

Everything works without a connection Countries are identified on the device, from maps bundled inside the app. You can check off a country in the middle of the desert or in mid-flight. Even place search keeps answering offline, from the cities, landmarks and sites built into the app.

Count your days How many days abroad this year, how many you have left in the Schengen Area — and, when you are there, your last allowed day. With Cartina Pro: your days country by country against the 183-day threshold, and a reminder 7, 3 and 1 day before the Schengen limit.

Things to check off 141,810 places across eighteen collections: mountains, lakes, waterfalls, volcanoes, dive sites, golf courses, world cities, airports, national parks, world capitals, landmarks, ports, trails and great treks, World Heritage sites, natural wonders, dream islands, extreme points, wonders of the world. Browse them for free; checking them off comes with Cartina Pro.

Set yourself a course 50 countries, every Canadian province, ten summits: with Cartina Pro, goals that move forward on their own, and eighteen badges earned along the way.

It knows where you land With Cartina Pro, turn on automatic detection and Cartina offers to add a country the moment you get there, without you opening the app. One notification, one tap, done.

Get ten years of travel back in a single tap Your photos remember every place you have been. With Cartina Pro, Cartina reads their location, works out the countries and the regions, and rebuilds your history with the right dates. Then it groups everything into trips, automatically. Pro also imports your Google Maps saved places and shared lists, and a Polarsteps export.

On your wrist With Cartina Pro, save a place from your Apple Watch, even with no iPhone nearby. Entries sync the next time the two meet. Widgets on the Home Screen and complications on your watch face.

Written on your device On supported devices, Cartina writes the title and the summary of a trip from the places you saved. It all happens on the iPhone, offline, with no data leaving it.

Share your map An image ready for your feed, in the palette of your choice. And a full export of your data as JSON, because it belongs to you.
